Day 4

The big day; the trip's raison d'etre; Chargers vs Saints at Wembley Stadium in London, England. We started the game going to Charing Cross so that Lauren could pick up a book she had her eye on two days earlier. We then went to the stadium. I had a blast up until about we lost the game. Getting off the train at Wembley station was pretty incredible; there's a half-mile long pedestrian walkway straight from the station to the stadium. Everything was making me giddily happy. We went to the 'official tailgate' party for half an hour or so, which was incredibly crowded, then to a pub about a quarter mile away that had a ton of football fans. The game was a good one, except for the part where the Chargers lost. We concluded the day with some cheese, crackers, and wine that we bought at a small convenience store not too far from our hotel. This was the last day of our first leg in London.
